What is NFC?

Near-field Communication, or NFC, is a connecting technology that brilliantly works to exchange information with just a tap of your phone. NFC is a technology standard based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) that does not require an internal power source to function and can transmit information wirelessly over small distances. As a result Taptivate and NFC opens up new possibilities for consumer goods.

+
Why use NFC?

We live in an experience economy and NFC technology makes it easier than ever for brands to customize the experiences their customers have with products and services. In particular, Taptivate’s NFC tags offer brands engaged in e-commerce a powerful new way to create and enhance the unboxing moment. NFC is both robust and secure.

+
What are Taptivate NFC Tags?

Taptivate tags take the form of a thin and flexible sticker or label. Tags are available in an array of shapes, sizes and configurations.  Tags can be customized with your logo or slogan and affixed to the outside of a package, the inside of package or the product itself. Each tag links to a specific URL.

+
How do people know to interact?

Tags are customized with a call to action message encouraging consumers to Tap their phone.

The call to action message (eg; Tap for Savings) encourages the consumers to Tap their phone on the tag. The NFC reader in your phone scans the tag and links a customer to your customized landing page and URL.

+
What is a typical conversion rate?

NFC is still a relatively new technology so we are seeing a consistent upward trend in average interactions. A well executed deployment can expect to see a 10-30% engagement rate with many products receiving multiple engagements from multiple users.
